There are many kinds of pumps used in brewery applications. such as centrifugal pumps, liquid ring seal pumps, rotary lobe pumps and so on, but the centrifugal pumps (also named velocity –based pumps) are the most common pump in the brewery, they may be of sanitary or non sanitary construction, shall be mounted under brewdeck besides each brewhouse vessel (such as mash tun, lauter tun, brew kettle, and water tanks).

Centrifugal pumps are able to deadhead, or pump against a closed system with no damage to the pump.

There are four main components of centrifugal pumps;

a. An impeller, which spins and imparts rotational motion to the liquid.
b. A motor, which powers the pump.
c. A seal, which prevents liquid from leaking where the rotating motor shaft passes into pump head.
d. A pump head, which houses the impeller and the liquid.

DYM’s customized brewing equipment use centrifugal pumps mostly. All the centrifugal pumps our brewhouse use are qualified with UL rated, and motors are from ABB. We can also source named brand centrifugal pumps as per customer’s requirement.
